Hockey Hats & Apparel

Hockey Clothing

The North American ice hockey market shows this. The sport has grown in popularity across the globe, partly because of the introduction of synthetic ice.

The padding on the pelvis, thighs and hips of goalie trousers is more padded. Goalie jocks (also called jills) have reduced groin protection but more padding in front of the cup.

Apparel

Hockey players are required to wear a variety of protective equipment because the sport involves fast-paced skating on hard surfaces. It is often physically challenging, where players often collide, sometimes intentionally. The most common safety equipment for the hockey player is sticks, ice skates and a helmet with a visor chest protectors, shoulder pads gloves, elbow pads and heavy-padded shorts (also known as jock athletic protectors for men and jockstraps, or "jills" for women), a pelvic protection (also known as a girdle, or "jill", for females) and hip pads, thigh pads, tailbone pads and shins. A neck protector can also be worn.

In recent years technology has been used to reduce the weight of ice hockey apparel and make it more practical. For instance, many businesses currently use carbon composites to make stick shafts and specialized foam can be found to make shoulder pads lighter without harming protection. Other advancements include 3D scanning to accurately determine the body proportions of a player and make sure that elbows, knee and shin pads can be designed to fit the specific player.

The market for hockey is predicted to expand over the next several years as more people become aware of the sport and as ice rinks made of synthetic materials are built all over the world, making it possible for players in areas which natural ice isn't available. The number of female hockey players has also grown which is good for the market.

Hats

A hat can be worn both on and off the playing field. We have a broad selection of caps that will please both men and woman. There is also a selection of youth hats that could be worn during games or for practice by younger players and fans. Hats are an integral part of hockey culture and are seen throughout the league including the infamous the hat trick, where fans throw their hats on the field after a player scores three goals during the course of a match.

From the most popular designs to the latest releases, we've got the NHL clothing you want to appear like a professional off the ice.

Jerseys

Jerseys are the uniforms worn by hockey players. They are typically made of thicker materials than jerseys worn in other sports, and come with long sleeves. The jerseys feature the team logo on front and the last name of the player on the their back, and the number ranging from 0 to 100. Some jerseys feature a "C", "A" or "A" to indicate the captain of the team, and alternate captain.

There are two types of NHL jerseys: authentic and replica. Authentic jerseys are made of the same material as the ones worn by the players, and they have the identical design. Replica jerseys are made of different materials (usually less expensive) and may not have the exact same design as authentic jerseys.

The majority of NHL teams have three or four sets of jerseys worn during games, and they also have special sets for things such as heritage designs and charity events. Each jersey is fitted with a loop of fabric that is sewn into the back of the inside called a fight strap, which is secured to the player's pants during a game in order to prevent the jersey from being pulled over a player's head during a battle.

The Authentic Pro is a top-tier NHL jersey made of high-performance fabrics. It features multilayered tackle twill and 3D embroidery. It also features reinforced stitching. Both styles for women and men are available. The Authentic Premier is a version of the Authentic Pro that is designed to imitate the look of jerseys worn by athletes on the playing field.

Shirts

A team's sweaters--also called jerseys--are their most well-known piece clothing. They feature the team's main logo on the front, and usually have a secondary logo on the shoulders. A player's last name is displayed on the back of the sweater, and the player's number appears below it. It ranges from 0 to 99. Team captains wear an uppercase "C" above and to the right of their jersey's name, two other players, designated as alternate captains--wear a "A" on theirs.

The majority of NHL teams have a third-sweater, or alternate, that is worn on special occasions, such as for the Winter Classic or Stadium Series. In addition there are teams that have a retro or throwback alternative to their home jerseys. Third sweaters are a way for teams to play around with new designs and are often used as an inspiration for the design of their primary sweaters.

Vancouver Canucks' sweater is an exquisite combination of modern and traditional design. The black and navy blue jerseys are bold and easy to identify on the ice. White stripes add contrast. The Canucks have a lovely font on the numbers and names, which helps to enhance the neat appearance of the jersey.
